Students should have completed Computing I before enrolling in this
course. Students will learn the basics of Microsoft Word. Students
should own or have access to a computer to practice their skills.

29. Ceramic Glaze-Making Class
Mon., Wed., 9-11:30 a.m.
For students who are interested in learning to test and make their own
glazes. Some wheel work will also be done, but teaching emphasis
will be on glaze-testing procedures. Clay may be purchased from
CNU bookstore. Students will make test tiles, search for glaze
recipes, and make small test samples of glaze with various color
additions, with the goal of finally making a gallon of glaze each for
themselves. Firing limits on thrown ware will apply the same as for
class #5. Register for either class #5 or #29, not both. Requires
a check for $15 glaze fee made out to CNUEF. Limited enrollment.

Learn about the symphony orchestra on both sides of the curtain.
Who picks the music? What do the musicians wear? What should

38. Innovations on Primitive Art

This course will give students a new, sightful look at primitive art. In
the first half we will survey selected primitive arts, focusing on
objects from Oceania, Africa and Northwest Coast Indian cultures.
The balance will be devoted to the influences of primitivism on
modern art.

The great revolution in the understanding of our solar system, made
possible by extensive international exploration by robotic spacecraft

solar system, adopted since the "demotion of Pluto," will be
